Job Description
The Business Development Officer will drive partnership and revenue growth for the Digital Earth Africa programme at icipe. Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, preparing high‑quality proposals, and managing stakeholder relationships across the continent. The role requires strong analytical, reporting and client‑engagement skills, as well as fluency in English and preferably French.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc or MA) in a relevant discipline
- • Minimum 7 years experience in business development or related field
- • Proven ability to produce high‑quality reports and analytical documents
- • Strong digital‑technology and data‑analytics expertise
- • Excellent written and spoken English
- French is an advantage
- • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity and ability to work independently
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities to support DE Africa’s sustainment strategy
- • Prepare high‑quality documents, proposals and analytical reports
- • Conduct market analysis and develop business cases for new initiatives
- • Build and maintain relationships with government, civil‑society and private‑sector partners
- • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to implement sustainment activities
- • Represent icipe in regional meetings and stakeholder workshops
