Job Description
The Chef will oversee the preparation of nutritious meals for patients at Saint Bridget Hospital, ensuring compliance with therapeutic diet requirements and food safety standards. Candidates must hold a culinary qualification and possess experience in a hospital or similar healthcare setting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or a related field
- • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital kitchen
- • Valid Food Handler/Medical Certificate
- • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutrition, and food safety regulations
- • Strong teamwork, communication, and time‑management abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare and cook meals that meet therapeutic diet specifications for patients
- • Plan daily menus in coordination with dietitians and clinical staff
- • Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
- • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
- • Supervise kitchen staff, schedule shifts, and provide on‑the‑job training
- • Maintain accurate records of food preparation, waste, and compliance audits
