Job Description
The Chief Operations Officer will provide strategic leadership for all non‑clinical functions of PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, ensuring efficient delivery of high‑quality patient‑centered services. You will oversee finance, procurement, facilities and operational performance, translating board strategy into measurable departmental plans. The role demands strong financial acumen, deep knowledge of Kenyan health regulations and proven experience managing large healthcare operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc or MA) in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field
- • Minimum 10 years experience in senior operational leadership within a hospital or large healthcare organization
- • In‑depth knowledge of Kenyan healthcare regulations, accreditation and compliance frameworks
- • Proven expertise in financial management, budgeting and cost control
- • Strong procurement and supply‑chain management background
- • Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead all non‑clinical hospital operations, ensuring seamless coordination across departments
- • Translate the hospital’s strategic objectives into actionable departmental plans with clear targets
- • Monitor performance through dashboards, KPIs and regular reviews, initiating corrective actions as needed
- • Oversee financial management, budgeting, cost control and compliance with financial policies
- • Direct procurement processes, optimise inventory management and prevent stock‑outs
- • Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives without compromising patient care quality
- • Ensure facilities maintenance and safety standards are met throughout the campus
- • Lead and develop operational staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
