Job Description
The Child Welfare Assistant supports the Child Welfare Coordinator in planning and delivering interventions for vulnerable children in Mandera County. Responsibilities include coordinating sponsorship payments, monitoring project activities, and preparing success stories and case studies. The role requires strong reporting skills, fluency in English and Kiswahili, and the ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment. The position is remote and reports to Islamic Relief.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in a relevant field.
- • Experience working with children in protection or welfare programmes.
- • Strong report‑writing and analytical skills.
- • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
- knowledge of local language preferred.
- • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities
- • Support the Child Welfare Coordinator in planning, coordinating, and implementing project activities in Mandera County.
- • Facilitate processing and disbursement of quarterly sponsorship and donor payments to beneficiaries.
- • Compile and share quarterly success stories and case studies demonstrating project impact.
- • Monitor and report on child protection activities ensuring compliance with Islamic Relief policies.
- • Liaise with field teams, donors, and partners to ensure effective delivery of services.
