Job Description
The Clearing & Forwarding Manager oversees all import and export customs activities, ensuring timely clearance and compliance with trade regulations. The manager coordinates sea, air, and road freight as well as warehousing to guarantee seamless cargo movement. Continuous improvement of operational efficiency and service delivery is a core responsibility. The role reports to the head of International Freight Forwarding and is based in Nairobi.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree or HND/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related field
- • Relevant experience in clearing and forwarding or customs brokerage
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead and manage all clearing and forwarding operations to ensure efficient customs clearance and cargo movement
- • Oversee import and export processing, including customs declarations, permits, licenses, duty payments, and cargo release
- • Coordinate sea, air, and road freight as well as warehousing activities for seamless cargo flow
- • Monitor cargo status and proactively resolve delays, customs issues, and operational bottlenecks
- • Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, operational procedures, and service level agreements
- • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
