Job Description
The Clinical Psychologist will assess and treat survivors of complex trauma, providing evidence‑based psychotherapy tailored to their cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The role also involves preparing forensic psychological reports and serving as an expert witness in Kenyan courts to support victim testimony. In addition, the psychologist delivers crisis intervention and coordinates referrals to ensure immediate support for clients. All activities are performed in accordance with professional licensing standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
- • Active registration and practising licence with the Counsellors and Psychologists Board (CPB) and membership in the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association or equivalent.
- • Training or experience in forensic psychology, psychological testing, medico‑legal report writing and expert witness testimony.
- • Valid police clearance certificate and clean child protection/safeguarding background check.
- • Professional fluency in English and Swahili
- working knowledge of Amharic, Oromo, Tigrinya or Somali is an advantage.

Responsibilities
- • Conduct psychometric testing and diagnose psychological disorders, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, dissociation, and psychosis in survivors.
- • Develop individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans considering migration history, language and cultural context.
- • Provide pre‑court psychological assessments, prepare survivors for testimony, and appear as expert witness in Kenyan courts.
- • Deliver post‑testimony debriefing, crisis intervention, and emotional stabilization after legal proceedings.
- • Coordinate referrals and immediate crisis support while maintaining comprehensive case documentation.
