Job Description
The Collections and Recovery Supervisor leads the debt recovery function, ensuring overdue accounts are collected ethically while preserving customer relationships. The role oversees repossession logistics, coordinates with external agencies, and provides intelligence to underwriting. It also monitors portfolio risk and prepares regular performance reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field
- • Minimum 5 years experience in collections, recovery, or credit management
- • At least 2 years experience supervising a team
- • Strong analytical and reporting skills
- • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Achieve collection targets for overdue debts across assigned branches or portfolio
- • Follow the debt recovery cycle and company collection policies
- • Provide proactive advice to clients to prevent delinquency
- • Manage relationships with collection agencies, investigators, auctioneers, yards, and valuers
- • Keep portfolio at risk below the assigned threshold
- • Coordinate asset liquidation and repossession, including vehicle tracking and auctioneer coordination
- • Follow up with external advocates on legal cases and monitor court proceedings
- • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly collection and repossession progress reports
