Job Description
The Commis Chef assists with food preparation and basic cooking tasks for hotel restaurants and events, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene. The role supports the Chef team during service periods and helps maintain an organized, safe kitchen environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Culinary qualification or formal training preferred
- • 1–2 years experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel
- • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
- • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards
- • Strong teamwork and willingness to learn
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assist with food preparation for restaurant, function and hotel operations
- • Prepare ingredients and basic dishes to required standards
- • Support the Chef team during busy service periods
- • Maintain a clean, organized and hygienic kitchen workspace
- • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures rigorously
- • Assist with stock preparation and kitchen organization
- • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
