Job Description
The Communications Officer will develop and execute Farm Africa’s communications strategy in Kenya, strengthening stakeholder engagement and media presence. They will create marketing materials, manage the external contacts database, and ensure consistent branding across all communications. The role also involves producing multimedia content, drafting press releases, and supporting event publicity while coordinating translations into Kiswahili. Collaboration with project teams and private‑sector partners is essential to amplify impact.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design or a related field
- • Proficient in English and Kiswahili
- • Skilled in design and editing tools such as InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint
- • Experience in photography and promotional writing is desirable
- • Minimum three years’ experience in communications, media or marketing
- • Prior experience with an NGO or private‑sector organization, preferably linked to agriculture

- • Raise the profile of Farm Africa’s work in Kenya through stakeholder mapping and targeted messaging
- • Develop and implement a communications and marketing action plan and media strategy
- • Build and maintain an external contacts database
- • Produce marketing materials, reports, factsheets, graphics and presentations
- • Coordinate public‑relations activities with project coordinators
- • Ensure consistent application of branding and communications guidelines
- • Create multimedia content, draft press releases and respond to media enquiries
- • Document and publicise key events such as field days and workshops
- • Oversee translation of public materials into Kiswahili
- • Liaise with government, partners and the private sector to expand outreach
