Job Description
The Cost Controller ensures accurate inventory valuation, monitors purchase costs and analyses variances to support profitability in a hospitality environment. Responsibilities include daily stock counts, reconciliation of POS data, and preparation of cost variance reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field.
- • CPA finalist qualification.
- • At least 3–5 years experience in cost control, inventory or accounting, preferably in hospitality.
- • Strong knowledge of food and beverage costing and stock control.
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/inventory systems such as QuickBooks.
- • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities
- • Analyze inventory movement reports and investigate variances.
- • Participate in daily physical stock counts for kitchen and bar.
- • Verify and report POS voids and discounts.
- • Analyze cost of sales and highlight anomalies.
- • Validate weekly inventory requisitions against system stock.
- • Record all inventory purchases accurately in the accounting system.
- • Perform daily stock variance calculations for each distribution point.
- • Ensure material usage aligns with approved recipes and flag deviations.
- • Produce and circulate weekly purchase cost variance reports.
- • Participate in monthly physical stock counts and reconcile transactions.
- • Control food and beverage outlets to minimise wastage and pilferage.
