Job Description
The Country Director leads Village Enterprise’s Kenya programme, providing strategic vision and operational oversight across multiple portfolios. Responsibilities include programme quality, business development, partnership building, financial stewardship, and risk management. The director reports to the Regional Director and ensures impact‑driven delivery aligned with the organisation’s mission.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc, or MA) in Business, Development, or a related field.
- • Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 15 years of senior management experience preferred.
- • Proven track record in project and programme management within the development sector.
- • Experience in resource mobilisation, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement.

- • Oversee programme quality, growth, and implementation across direct services, technical assistance, and research initiatives.
- • Lead business development and resource mobilisation efforts to secure funding and partnerships.
- • Manage government and strategic partnerships to align programme activities with national priorities.
- • Ensure sound financial stewardship, budgeting, and operational excellence.
- • Oversee risk management and compliance across all programme activities.
- • Lead and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of impact and accountability.
