Job Description
The Credit Risk Manager provides independent oversight of the bank’s credit risk profile, ensuring that risks are identified, measured and managed within the approved appetite. Responsibilities include enhancing the risk framework, leading IFRS 9 modeling and delivering risk reports to senior management. The role requires extensive banking experience and strong analytical capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or equivalent and a professional finance or risk certification
- • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in banking credit risk or related fields
- • In‑depth knowledge of credit risk assessment, IFRS 9 and regulatory requirements
- • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Implement and continuously improve the Credit Risk Management Framework, policies and methodologies
- • Monitor the bank’s credit portfolio to ensure adherence to risk appetite and regulatory limits
- • Provide independent risk challenge to business and credit functions
- • Review and approve credit proposals and assess compliance with approved limits
- • Lead IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss modeling, including staging, PD, LGD and EAD calculations
- • Validate and challenge credit risk models and assumptions
- • Prepare risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies
