Job Description
The Customs & Forwarding Subject Matter Expert will conduct a strategic review of the platform's operational workflows, ensuring compliance with regional customs regulations and identifying gaps in logistics processes. The role includes auditing digital compliance documents, verifying duty payment portals and evaluating GPS milestone and escrow mechanisms for operational realism. Findings will be used to recommend enhancements that align the system with the requirements of revenue authorities across the Great Lakes corridor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade or a related field
- • Seven to ten years of experience in customs, forwarding or logistics consultancy
- • Proven expertise in regulatory compliance and operational workflow analysis
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assess practical workflow of operations across client, clearing agent and transporter portals
- • Verify that digital compliance and document vault meet requirements of KRA, URA, RRA, DGDA and OBR
- • Review GPS milestone checkpoints and automated escrow triggers for operational realism
- • Identify missing logistical requirements, compliance gaps and process misalignments
- • Provide detailed recommendations to improve system functionality and regulatory adherence
