Job Description
The Deputy Program Director at Human Rights Watch will provide strategic leadership for program planning, research and advocacy initiatives. The role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, overseeing field investigations, and shaping policy recommendations to advance human rights protections.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Master’s degree in Human Rights, Law, International Relations, Social Sciences or a related discipline
- • Minimum 7+ years of experience in human rights program management, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams
- • Proven expertise in research methodologies, advocacy and policy development
- • Strong analytical, writing and public speaking skills
- • Ability to work in high‑pressure environments and manage complex projects

- • Oversee the conduct of investigations and ensure methodological rigor
