Job Description
The Director of the Professional and Technical Training Institute will provide strategic leadership to grow the institute, align programmes with industry needs and ensure financial sustainability. Responsibilities include overseeing curriculum development, budgeting, partnership building and risk management while promoting innovation and digital skills. The role reports to senior university leadership and requires extensive experience in education management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or HND/Diploma
- MBA, MSc or professional certification preferred
- • Minimum 10 years experience in education or training institute management
- • Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning and financial management skills
- • Strong ability to develop industry‑responsive programmes and partnerships
- • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and risk‑management capabilities

Responsibilities
- • Implement the institute’s strategic plan and drive growth initiatives
- • Oversee development, review and quality assurance of training programmes
- • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial performance and revenue‑generation strategies
- • Promote innovation, entrepreneurship and integration of emerging technologies
- • Develop work plans, performance targets and periodic progress reports
- • Strengthen the institute’s brand, enrolment and student success rates
- • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory bodies
- • Manage facilities, workshops, laboratories and digital learning resources
- • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, government and professional bodies
- • Lead risk‑management framework and mentor institute staff
