Job Description
The Director of Strategic Research & Evidence leads the design, execution and dissemination of applied research that informs World Vision Kenya’s programmes and impact measurement. The director oversees evidence generation, data analysis and knowledge translation to support evidence‑based decision‑making across the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Social Sciences, International Development, Public Health or related field
- • Extensive experience leading research and evaluation in the humanitarian or development sector
- • Proven track record of publishing research and influencing policy
- • Strong analytical, statistical and data‑visualisation skills
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Define and lead strategic research agenda aligned with World Vision’s mission and impact goals
- • Oversee design, implementation and analysis of large‑scale surveys, impact evaluations and monitoring systems
- • Translate research findings into actionable insights for programme teams and senior leadership
- • Manage a multidisciplinary research team, providing mentorship and capacity‑building
- • Ensure data quality, ethical standards and compliance with donor requirements
- • Represent World Vision in external research partnerships, conferences and publications
- • Secure funding and manage budgets for research projects
- • Promote a culture of learning and evidence‑based practice within the organization
