Job Description
The Distribution Assistant will oversee the efficient operation of the company’s truck fleet, ensuring on‑time, accurate deliveries to both internal and external customers. Duties include vehicle inspections, route planning, record‑keeping and performance reporting, while maintaining compliance with traffic regulations. The role requires a diploma and three years of logistics experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field
- • Minimum 3 years experience in distribution, fleet management or similar logistics role
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills
- • Ability to prioritize, coordinate multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision
- • Proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct daily inspections of company trucks and update maintenance records
- • Plan and coordinate routes to achieve on‑time, in‑full (OTIF) deliveries
- • Ensure the safety and integrity of goods during transit and at delivery points
- • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly operational logs and compile performance reports
- • Develop weekly route plans to maximise truck utilisation and revenue generation
- • Monitor adherence to service and maintenance schedules and road traffic rules
- • Accurately record and process any claims incurred during transportation
