Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will lead the design, calculation, and documentation of electrical systems for high‑value building and infrastructure projects. They will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee installation, testing, and commissioning, and ensure compliance with international codes and Kenyan regulations. The role also includes managing project budgets, procurement, and maintaining safety certifications while mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- • Minimum 5 years progressive post‑qualification experience, preferably in high‑value building or infrastructure projects.
- • Thorough understanding of LV and HV electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and cabling.
- • Proficiency with electrical design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit, or similar.
- • Strong knowledge of international electrical codes and standards, including IEC, BS, and Kenyan standards.
- • Proven experience managing full electrical project lifecycles from design through installation, testing, and commissioning.
- • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

- • Lead electrical design, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation for projects.
- • Coordinate electrical works with structural, architectural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
- • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare electrical cost estimates.
- • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and cost controls for electrical works.
- • Advise on procurement of electrical components and materials.
- • Support procurement negotiations and manage vendor performance.
- • Ensure installations comply with approved designs and technical standards.
- • Ensure all electrical works meet HSE requirements and Kenyan regulations.
- • Maintain electrical safety certifications and project documentation.
- • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
- • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
