Job Description
The Electrician Journeyman (Tier 2) will install, test, and maintain grounding systems and electrical conduit in accordance with industry codes. The role involves planning installations, preparing sketches, and ensuring safe, reliable wiring for new and modified projects. Candidates must hold a diploma and have at least four years of relevant experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience installing and maintaining electrical systems
- • Knowledge of national electrical codes and safety practices
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Install, test and repair grounding systems following applicable codes and standards
- • Plan new or modified installations to minimise material waste and ensure future maintenance access
- • Prepare sketches or follow blue‑prints for concealed wiring installations
- • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using hand and power tools
- • Pull wiring through conduit and splice wires according to code requirements
- • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures, power equipment and control panels
- • Install switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels and other distribution apparatus
- • Ensure all work complies with local electrical regulations and safety standards
