Job Description
The Environmental Specialist provides technical and administrative support for environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting sustainable practices across waste management, pollution prevention and permitting activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
- • Minimum 4–7 years experience in environmental compliance or related roles
- • Valid 40‑hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) certification with annual recertification
- • Strong knowledge of waste management, pollution prevention and regulatory requirements
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to produce technical documentation
- • Good command of written and spoken English
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assist in administering environmental policies and procedures, including waste management and pollution prevention
- • Support permitting processes and hazardous materials compliance
- • Conduct air and water compliance monitoring and reporting
- • Participate in training, audit activities and regulatory compliance reviews
- • Provide technical guidance, prepare reports or presentations, and interpret environmental data
- • Respond to HAZWOPER incidents and support hazardous waste transportation activities
- • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of environmental regulations and standards
