Job Description
The Fiberglass Laminator will manufacture and finish composite components for commercial vehicle bodies, ensuring high quality and durability. Responsibilities include preparing molds, mixing resins, trimming, and assembling panels while adhering to safety standards. The role requires 2–4 years of hands‑on experience with hand lay‑up techniques and a relevant diploma.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or professional certificate in a relevant technical field
- • 2–4 years of experience in fiberglass laminating and composite fabrication
- • Proficiency in hand lay‑up, resin preparation, and mold care
- • Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices for chemical handling
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare and treat molds, including cleaning, waxing, and applying gelcoat
- • Perform hand lay‑up or spray‑up of fiberglass reinforcement mats
- • Measure, blend, and mix thermoset resins, catalysts, pigments, and fillers
- • Trim, grind, sand, drill, and finish cured composite panels to specifications
- • Install or bond fiberglass components onto vehicle body frames and repair damaged panels
