Job Description
The Field Agronomist & Produce Sourcing Specialist identifies and audits farm sources, negotiates supply contracts and provides technical agronomic support to ensure a reliable flow of high‑quality fresh produce.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Agronomy, Agriculture or a related field.
- • 3–5 years of experience in field agronomy, produce sourcing or farm liaison.
- • Proven ability to work independently in remote field settings.
- • High level of integrity and strong problem‑solving skills under tight deadlines.
- • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities with growers and stakeholders.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Scout farms and agricultural regions to identify and evaluate potential fruit and vegetable growers.
- • Conduct on‑site audits and assess crop quality, post‑harvest practices and compliance with standards.
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, providing agronomic advice to improve yields and quality.
- • Negotiate farm‑gate prices, supply volumes and harvest schedules to meet market demand.
- • Coordinate procurement, logistics and traceability to ensure timely delivery of produce.
- • Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies to optimise cost and quality.
- • Support the supply‑chain team with data on farm performance and product specifications.
