Job Description
The Finance & Administration Assistant supports the finance team by processing transactions, assisting with payroll, and maintaining accurate records. The role also handles day‑to‑day administrative tasks, ensures compliance with statutory requirements, and prepares reports for management. Strong attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in finance, payroll, or administration (construction industry preferred)
- • Strong understanding of Kenyan statutory and payroll regulations
- • Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage
- • Proficiency with accounting/payroll software and MS Excel

Responsibilities
- • Prepare and post financial transactions, journals, and vouchers
- • Support accounts payable and receivable processes
- • Maintain up‑to‑date financial records and filing systems
- • Assist with bank reconciliations and cash‑flow monitoring
- • Help prepare monthly financial reports and schedules
- • Track project expenses and petty cash usage
- • Process monthly payroll, including overtime, allowances, and deductions
- • Compute statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF, and Housing Levy
- • Maintain confidential payroll records and ensure timely statutory remittances
- • Provide administrative support to finance, HR, and project teams
- • Coordinate office supplies, documentation, and internal communications
- • Manage contracts, invoices, approvals, and correspondence
- • Organise internal meetings and track action items
- • Ensure financial and payroll records comply with audit and statutory requirements
- • Prepare audit schedules and related documentation
- • Produce periodic finance and payroll reports as required
