Job Description
The Finance Manager leads the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting functions for Hivos East Africa’s THRIVE program. Responsibilities include overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and providing strategic insights to senior management. The manager mentors a small finance team and drives continuous improvement of financial processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
- • Demonstrated experience in financial management, preferably in the non‑profit sector
- • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with accounting software
- • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- • Ensure compliance with internal controls, donor requirements, and statutory regulations
- • Lead and mentor the finance team, delegating tasks and reviewing work quality
- • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making
