Job Description
The Financial Accountant supports the Finance Manager by maintaining accurate general ledger records, preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include month‑end close, fixed‑asset accounting, variance analysis and reporting to internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field
- • Professional accounting certification such as CPA (K), ACCA or CIMA
- • Proven experience in financial management and accounting in a fast‑paced environment
- • Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- • Ability to support strategic decision‑making with financial insights
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Manage the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate recording of financial transactions
- • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve discrepancies
- • Monitor salary control accounts for proper clearing in accordance with accounting standards
- • Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries
- • Contribute to month‑end and year‑end close processes
- • Oversee fixed‑asset recording, tracking, and depreciation accounting
- • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- • Analyze variances against budgets or forecasts and provide management insights
- • Generate accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
