Job Description
The Financial Accountant supports the Finance Manager by maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing the general ledger, and preparing timely financial statements. They ensure compliance with accounting standards, monitor internal controls, and provide variance analysis to aid strategic decision‑making. The role also manages fixed‑asset accounting, payroll control accounts, and contributes to month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- • Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA or CIMA) preferred
- • Proven experience in financial management and accounting in a busy environment
- • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- • Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills
- • Ability to support strategic decision‑making with financial insights
- • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Responsibilities
- • Record financial transactions accurately in the general ledger
- • Reconcile balance‑sheet and income‑statement accounts and resolve discrepancies
- • Monitor salary control accounts and ensure proper clearing
- • Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries
- • Support month‑end and year‑end close activities
- • Oversee fixed‑asset recording, tracking and depreciation accounting
- • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- • Analyze variances against budgets or forecasts and provide management insights
- • Generate accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
