Job Description
The Financial Accountant oversees payroll, tax compliance, cash management and prepares management accounts while supporting audit processes. Responsibilities include managing cash flow, handling accounts payable and receivable, filing statutory returns and ensuring internal controls. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate financial records.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance or related field
- • Professional accounting certificate
- CPA (K) preferred
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting
- • Strong understanding of IFRS and tax regulations
- • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Sage)
- • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Manage payroll processing and compute sales commissions
- • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.)
- • Oversee cash and bank operations, including daily cash‑flow and working‑capital reporting
- • Support accounts payable and receivable functions and monitor customer and supplier balances
- • Prepare monthly management accounts and assist with external audit documentation
- • Maintain accurate financial records, perform timely reconciliations and uphold internal controls
- • Handle treasury activities to ensure smooth banking operations
