Job Description
The Forklift/Reachtruck Operator safely moves, loads and unloads goods in a busy warehouse environment, ensuring efficient material flow. They adhere to safety protocols, report hazards and near‑miss incidents, and participate in emergency preparedness activities. The operator also conducts risk assessments and maintains equipment in good working order.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Minimum education: KCSE certificate
- • Ability to operate forklifts and reach trucks safely
- • Understanding of basic workplace health and safety practices
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Report near‑miss incidents monthly using the designated safety reporting procedure
- • Identify, challenge and report unsafe acts and conditions via the Stop Card system
- • Conduct risk assessments before starting tasks and implement control measures
- • Follow all company policies, safety rules, SOPs and work instructions
- • Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely according to approved procedures
- • Exercise heightened caution when stacking at elevated heights
- • Participate in monthly fire drills and other emergency preparedness activities
- • Promptly report accidents, equipment defects and unsafe conditions to supervisors
