Job Description
The General Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, process journal entries, and ensure proper classification of expenses. Responsibilities include month‑end closing, preparation of accruals, tax filing and supporting audits. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Professional accounting certificate preferred)
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in general accounting or finance
- • Proficiency in accounting software and reporting tools
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Record and post general accounting journals accurately
- • Classify expenses to appropriate GL accounts and review accruals, provisions and prepayments
- • Prepare supporting schedules for month‑end reporting and budgeting
- • Conduct trial balance reviews and ensure journal approvals
- • Manage cost allocation and prepare accrual and prepayment reports
- • Provide schedules for internal and external audits, including tax audits
- • Support the Financial Controller with reporting, working capital and forex analysis
- • Follow up on supplier invoices and resolve VAT discrepancies
- • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
