Job Description
The General Cashier oversees daily cash handling, verification, reconciliation and banking for the hotel, ensuring accurate collection of cash, cheques and vouchers. The role maintains strong internal controls over petty cash, staff disbursements and cash deposits, and prepares timely cash reports for audit review. Collaboration with Front Office, Food & Beverage and Finance teams is essential to support efficient operations. Attention to detail, integrity and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and hotel accounting systems are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or Professional Certificate in Finance, Accounting or related field
- • Minimum 2–3 years experience in cash‑handling or accounting roles
- • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with hotel accounting systems
- • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality and accountability
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced hospitality environment
- • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities
- • Own the daily cash control process, ensuring all cash, cheques, credit‑card vouchers and remittances are accurately collected, verified, reconciled and securely accounted for
- • Safeguard the hotel’s financial assets by maintaining strong controls over cash collections, deposits, petty cash, advances and other monetary transactions
- • Prepare and coordinate daily bank deposits, ensuring all cash and cheque collections are deposited intact and within required timelines
- • Manage petty cash and staff disbursements, ensuring payments are properly authorized, recorded and reconciled
- • Maintain accurate daily cash records and reports for review by the Income Auditor
