Job Description
The General Manager – Underwriting & Reinsurance will set underwriting strategy, pricing and risk appetite for non‑life insurance lines while designing efficient reinsurance programmes. As an executive committee member, the role contributes to overall company strategy and ensures profitable growth within regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- MBA, MSc or professional certification preferred
- • Minimum 10 years of experience in underwriting and reinsurance management
- • Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Define underwriting strategy, pricing and risk appetite across non‑life classes
- • Design and place reinsurance programmes to protect capital and earnings
- • Oversee retention, renewal budgets and specialty/facultative targets
- • Contribute to company strategy as an ExCo member and shape three‑year plans
- • Lead underwriting and reinsurance teams to achieve profitability goals
- • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards
