Job Description
The Goods Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods safely to customers, retail outlets and warehouses, while maintaining accurate delivery records and ensuring vehicle safety. The role requires a valid driving licence, good knowledge of Nairobi routes and strong time‑management skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle
- • Certificate of good conduct
- • Proven experience as a goods or distribution driver
- • Good knowledge of Nairobi routes and traffic patterns
- • Ability to use navigation tools such as Google Maps
- • Understanding of road safety and defensive driving practices
- • Ability to lift, carry and handle goods safely
- • Strong time‑management and organizational skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Safely deliver goods to customers, retail outlets and warehouses following assigned routes
- • Load and unload goods, handling them carefully to prevent damage
- • Verify delivery details, including quantity and condition of items
- • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures
- • Reconcile stock at loading points to ensure accurate inventory records
- • Inspect the delivery vehicle regularly and report any issues
- • Follow traffic rules, road safety regulations and company policies
- • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
- • Communicate with the office via approved channels such as WhatsApp
- • Keep the delivery vehicle clean, secure and well‑maintained
- • Complete delivery routes within required timelines and assist with upcountry deliveries when needed
