Job Description
The Head of Advocacy & Evidencing leads HelpAge International’s global advocacy, policy and research agenda, ensuring that external engagement is grounded in rigorous evidence and the lived experiences of older people. The role strengthens network capacities, builds strategic partnerships with academic and policy institutions, and translates research into impactful policy recommendations. It requires proven strategic leadership in advocacy, strong analytical abilities and experience influencing policy at national and international levels. The position is remote and reports to senior leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) or Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant discipline
- • Significant experience in global advocacy, policy influencing and research within international development or humanitarian sectors

Responsibilities
- • Lead development and evolution of the global advocacy and research agenda for older people’s rights and inclusion
- • Strengthen capacities of network members and older individuals to lead and participate in advocacy initiatives
- • Build and manage strategic partnerships with policy, academic and research institutions to co‑produce evidence‑based outputs
- • Oversee design and implementation of partner‑led advocacy strategies that centre lived experience
- • Influence policy at national, regional and international levels through coalition‑building and senior stakeholder engagement
- • Conduct and supervise ethical, participatory research and translate findings into policy briefs and advocacy materials
- • Manage high‑performing, diverse and remote multidisciplinary teams to deliver results
- • Provide strategic guidance, planning and performance management for the advocacy function
