Job Description
The Head of Cross‑Border Trade & Regulatory Operations will oversee the end‑to‑end execution of the Kenya National Pavilion on JD.com, ensuring compliance, supplier vetting, and logistics efficiency while driving GMV growth. The role leads strategic engagement with government agencies, manages the JD.com storefront, and controls financial and risk aspects of cross‑border trade. It requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and cross‑functional coordination.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, International Trade, or a related field
- • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
- • Minimum 8 years of experience in trade, risk management, or regulatory compliance
- • Proven track record of leading cross‑border e‑commerce operations
- • Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead government‑to‑government and B2B engagement with KEPHIS, KEBS, GACC, and CCIC for regulatory approvals
- • Direct JD.com cross‑border storefront operations and digital marketing campaigns
- • Oversee supplier onboarding across multiple product categories, applying a 100‑point vetting scorecard
- • Ensure at least 70% local raw‑material content and sustained volume commitments
- • Manage trade finance, cross‑border logistics, and risk mitigation strategies
- • Monitor financial performance and GMV growth, reporting to senior leadership
