Job Description

The Head of Logbook Loans leads the car‑financing division, shaping commercial strategy, overseeing sales operations, and expanding the agent network. Reporting to the Car Finance Division Manager, the role ensures high‑quality loan origination, manages credit risk, and monitors portfolio performance. The leader drives revenue growth while maintaining strict underwriting standards and strong relationships with dealers and agents.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • • Minimum seven years of experience in banking or micro‑finance, specifically managing logbook loans or asset‑financing portfolios.
  • • Proven track record of meeting sales targets and driving origination volume.
  • • Established network within the Kenyan asset‑finance industry, including relationships with car dealers, agent networks, and valuation firms.
  • • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • • Formulate and execute the commercial strategy for the logbook loan product to meet business targets.
  • • Manage end‑to‑end sales operations, translating company objectives into actionable KPIs for internal staff and external agents.
  • • Map customer segments, generate leads, and drive loan disbursement volume.
  • • Track sales metrics dynamically and adjust strategies to ensure consistent target achievement.
  • • Act as the first line of defense against credit risk by ensuring only high‑quality, fully verified applications proceed to disbursement.
  • • Monitor early‑stage loan performance to evaluate origination quality.
  • • Identify, recruit, and onboard indirect sales agents to expand the loan network.
  • • Train the agent network on product specifications, credit requirements, and anti‑fraud procedures.
