Job Description
The Head of Network Development will provide strategic leadership for HelpAge International’s global network, overseeing engagement, localisation and capacity‑strengthening initiatives across multiple regions. The role involves setting network strategy, managing regional advisers, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission. Candidates must have extensive experience in partnership management and a proven track record in network development within the international development sector.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND and Postgraduate Diploma in International Development, Public Policy or related field
- • Proven strategic leadership of membership networks or alliances in humanitarian or civil‑society sectors
- • Extensive experience managing diverse, geographically dispersed teams
- • Demonstrated success in localisation, capacity‑strengthening and partner‑led programming
- • Track record of income generation and fundraising against targets
- • Strong knowledge of global development contexts and partnership dynamics

Responsibilities
- • Provide strategic leadership for global network engagement, localisation and capacity‑strengthening activities
- • Develop and implement the HelpAge network strategy aligned with organizational goals
- • Lead regional advisers, set annual priorities and hold them accountable for delivery
- • Build and maintain strong relationships with network members, partners and stakeholders
- • Advance partner‑led programming principles and promote locally‑led approaches
- • Manage the network lifecycle including recruitment, accreditation, due diligence and exit processes
- • Oversee income‑generation activities and monitor performance against targets
- • Conduct segmentation and analysis to inform member engagement strategies
- • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas
- • Represent HelpAge in external forums and advocate for network interests
