Job Description
The Head of Payments and Platform will design and launch a comprehensive payments suite built on Umba’s banking licence, covering accounts, collections, payouts, cross‑border settlements, remittance, and credit services. Reporting to senior leadership, the role defines product specifications, secures partner agreements, and oversees end‑to‑end delivery with engineering and compliance teams. This senior position drives the growth of Umba’s fintech ecosystem.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- • Minimum 7 years experience in payments, fintech, or banking platforms
- • Proven track record of launching payment products and managing partner ecosystems
- • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Define product specifications for accounts, collections, payouts, cross‑border payments, remittance, and credit services
- • Write term sheets and negotiate agreements with platform partners
- • Onboard and manage relationships with payment companies, fintechs, marketplaces, and software platforms
- • Collaborate with engineering to deliver the first product release
- • Coordinate with compliance and finance to ensure regulatory adherence and pricing strategy
