Job Description
The Head of Workforce Development leads the design and implementation of programs that enhance employability and livelihood outcomes for target communities. Oversees a multidisciplinary team, builds partnerships with private sector and training providers, and ensures program impact is measured and reported. Provides strategic direction, manages budgets and aligns initiatives with the Mastercard Foundation’s development objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Development Studies or related field
- Master’s preferred
- • Minimum 7 years experience in workforce development or similar program management
- • Demonstrated leadership and team‑management skills
- • Strong analytical, budgeting and reporting capabilities
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and execute the workforce development strategy and annual work plan
- • Lead a team of program managers, trainers and support staff
- • Build and maintain partnerships with employers, training institutions and NGOs
- • Oversee curriculum design, training delivery and apprenticeship placements
- • Monitor program performance, evaluate outcomes and produce impact reports
- • Manage program budgets, resources and compliance with donor requirements
- • Represent the foundation in stakeholder meetings and advocacy forums
- • Identify funding opportunities and contribute to proposal development
