Job Description
The Health, Safety and Environment Officer will implement and continuously improve the company's HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, ISO 45001 standards, and internal policies. Key duties include conducting inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and supporting emergency preparedness. The role requires a solid background in occupational health and safety, strong auditing skills, and the ability to promote a proactive safety culture. This position reports to the HSE Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent certification
- • ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Training preferred
- • Minimum of 3 years experience managing HSE systems, preferably in the electrical industry
- • Strong report‑writing, communication, and training abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Implement and maintain the Health and Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001
- • Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments (including Job Safety Analyses)
- • Monitor and verify the implementation of control measures and ensure closure of identified hazards
- • Maintain accurate HSE records, registers, and documentation
- • Support emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and evacuation exercises
- • Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective actions
- • Track and report HSE performance indicators to senior management
- • Assist with ISO 45001 certification and internal auditor activities
