Job Description
The HR Manager leads the people function at Smart Brains Kenya, overseeing the full employee lifecycle, performance management, disciplinary processes and compliance with Kenyan labour law. The role partners with the CEO and department heads to build robust HR policies, improve attendance and retention, and provide strategic HR reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or a related field
- • Professional HR qualification such as CHRP‑K or equivalent
- • At least 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably managing a workforce of 100+ employees
- • Demonstrated experience handling disciplinary and employee‑relations matters
- • Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and HR best practices
- • Experience managing attendance, performance management and employee records
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities
- • Manage employee attendance, timekeeping and accountability
- • Oversee performance management and employee discipline processes
- • Handle employee resignations, exit management and asset recovery
- • Maintain HR policies, company procedures and ensure compliance with Kenyan employment law
- • Lead recruitment, staffing and onboarding activities
- • Supervise HR records, documentation and HR information systems
- • Provide HR reporting and management information to senior leadership
- • Deliver training and employee development programmes
- • Support the CEO with HR‑related strategic initiatives and KPI monitoring
