Job Description

The HR Officer manages recruitment, onboarding, payroll and employee relations activities, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labour laws and maintaining accurate personnel records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • • CHRP‑K certification or progress toward certification is an advantage
  • • Prior experience in an HR Officer or HR Assistant role preferred
  • • Good knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and HR/payroll systems

Responsibilities

  • • Coordinate recruitment activities, advertise vacancies, shortlist candidates and schedule interviews
  • • Prepare recruitment documentation and support onboarding of new hires
  • • Maintain up‑to‑date recruitment and employee records
  • • Manage employee onboarding paperwork and maintain confidential personnel files
  • • Prepare employment letters, contracts and other HR correspondence
  • • Update employee information in HR databases and registers
  • • Prepare and submit monthly payroll inputs, including new hires, exits, salary changes and deductions
  • • Coordinate with payroll/accounting teams to resolve payroll issues
  • • Manage employee leave records and monitor attendance
  • • Support management in addressing employee queries and routine HR matters
  • • Assist with grievance handling, disciplinary processes and workplace concerns
  • • Ensure compliance with Kenyan employment laws and company HR policies
