Job Description

The HSE Officer is responsible for developing and implementing health, safety and environmental policies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with legislation in a manufacturing environment. The role also leads emergency preparedness, training and incident investigation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
  • • Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH) is advantageous
  • • Two to five years of relevant HSE experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and standards
  • • Excellent communication, training and reporting skills

Responsibilities

  • • Develop, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and programs in line with legal standards
  • • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification
  • • Enforce PPE usage and safety rules
  • • Investigate incidents, accidents and near‑misses, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
  • • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training for staff and contractors
  • • Monitor occupational health risks and implement preventive measures
  • • Oversee fire‑system validation across plant sections
  • • Ensure environmental compliance, monitor waste, emissions and pollution control
  • • Coordinate environmental audits and maintain accurate records
  • • Maintain HSE documentation and reporting systems
  • • Support internal and external audits and inspections
  • • Develop and test emergency response plans, conduct drills and ensure readiness of emergency equipment
