Job Description
The ICT / Computer Science Teacher delivers engaging lessons in ICT, coding and robotics to Key Stage 2 and 3 learners, while also serving as a homeroom teacher. Responsibilities include planning differentiated lessons, assessing student progress, developing curriculum and leading technology clubs. The role requires strong subject knowledge, classroom management and a commitment to student welfare.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor's Degree in Education – Computer Science/Computer Studies (or related teaching subject)
- • Minimum 5 years teaching experience in ICT, Computer Studies or Computer Science at Key Stage 2 and/or Key Stage 3
- • Strong knowledge of coding/programming languages and computational thinking
- • Good understanding of the Cambridge curriculum
- • Valid TSC number

Responsibilities
- • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and challenging ICT lessons for Key Stages 2 and 3
- • Teach practical coding and programming, fostering computational thinking and problem‑solving
- • Deliver robotics lessons and technology‑based projects that encourage creativity and collaboration
- • Incorporate project‑based and inquiry‑based learning approaches
- • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs
- • Use digital tools and technology to enhance teaching and learning
- • Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies and Cambridge expectations
- • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- • Prepare students for progression to Key Stage 4 and guide them on technology‑related pathways
- • Contribute to the development and review of the ICT, Computer Science, Coding and Robotics curriculum
- • Develop innovative technology projects, competitions, clubs and enrichment activities
- • Lead coding, robotics, STEM and technology‑related clubs
- • Stay updated on emerging technologies and developments in computing education
- • Serve as a class teacher, managing academic progress, behaviour and wellbeing
- • Maintain accurate attendance, performance and development records
- • Communicate effectively with parents and promote student welfare
- • Ensure a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
