Job Description
The Consultant will provide internal audit, financial management and compliance services for donor‑funded projects, ensuring adherence to policies and effective risk mitigation. Key tasks include conducting audits, reviewing financial records, assessing procurement and payroll processes, and recommending corrective actions. The role demands extensive audit experience and strong analytical capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
- • Professional certification in auditing or accounting
- • Minimum 7 years of experience in internal audit, financial management or compliance, preferably with donor‑funded projects
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct monthly physical internal audit visits throughout the contract period
- • Review accounting records, journals, ledgers, cash books and bank reconciliations
- • Assess the accuracy, completeness and validity of financial transactions
- • Verify payment documentation and supporting records
- • Evaluate donor‑funded expenditures against budgets, grant agreements and donor requirements
- • Examine procurement transactions for compliance with HURIA policies and donor rules
- • Review payroll, statutory deductions, remittances and tax compliance matters
- • Assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and risk management practices
- • Inspect asset registers and inventory controls
- • Identify financial, operational and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions
- • Review implementation of previous audit recommendations
