Job Description
The Internal Counsel will provide legal guidance to ensure Telkom Kenya’s operations comply with applicable laws and mitigate legal risk. The role involves advising business units on regulatory changes, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, and managing litigation matters. The counsel will also coordinate with external law firms and stay current on best practices through continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognised university
- • Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in a busy law firm or as in‑house counsel for a large corporation
- • Strong knowledge of Kenyan law, particularly telecommunications and mobile financial services
- • Excellent legal drafting, advisory and analytical skills
- • Ability to manage large volumes of legal documents and maintain confidentiality
- • Good work ethic and professional integrity
