Job Description
The investigator leads multidisciplinary research into weapons, arms transfers and emerging warfare technologies, assessing their human‑rights and humanitarian law implications. The role designs and conducts investigations, produces rigorous reports and visual outputs, and advises research teams on technical and legal aspects. It contributes to Amnesty International’s evidence‑based advocacy on armed conflict.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights, International Relations, Law, Security Studies or a related discipline
- • Demonstrated experience in investigative research and open‑source intelligence
- • Strong written communication, analytical and reporting skills

- • Lead investigations into lethal and less‑lethal weapons, arms transfers and new warfare technologies
- • Conduct open‑source research, data collection and analysis across multiple sources
- • Produce rigorous, accessible reports and visual materials for advocacy
- • Provide specialist analysis and advice to research teams on weapons identification, legal implications and conflict dynamics
- • Collaborate with regional and thematic specialists to shape investigative strategies
- • Contribute to findings on responsibility for grave violations and supply‑chain assessments
