Job Description
The Junior Actuarial Analyst supports the life insurance actuarial team by preparing valuations, IFRS 17 reporting and solvency analyses. The role involves building financial models, investigating experience data and assisting with capital management. The analyst also helps maintain actuarial systems such as Prophet and OIPA while providing technical insight for management decisions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
- • 2–5 years of actuarial or technical experience
- • Proficiency with Prophet or comparable reserving software and advanced Excel
- • Strong analytical, data‑handling and problem‑solving abilities
- • Excellent communication and presentation skills
- • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Assist with internal actuarial liability valuations, IFRS 17 valuations and embedded value calculations using Prophet and Excel
- • Conduct profitability and experience analyses to inform business decisions
- • Perform solvency calculations and risk‑based capital stress tests
- • Build financial models for business scenarios and projects
- • Support management of actuarial systems including Prophet, Thought Express and OIPA
- • Contribute to business‑planning financial projections
