Job Description
The Junior Laboratory Associate will perform sample collection, microbiological and chemical testing, and maintain rigorous documentation to support food safety analyses. The role contributes to quality assurance by ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards and internal procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or a related discipline
- • At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic laboratory data systems
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Collect, label, store and dispose of food, water and surface samples according to approved procedures
- • Conduct microbiological testing, including enumeration and detection of pathogens
- • Perform routine chemical analyses as required
- • Record test results accurately and generate laboratory reports
- • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures and work instructions
- • Participate in proficiency testing, internal audits and inter‑laboratory comparisons
