Job Description
The Junior Legal Counsel & Company Secretary will provide comprehensive legal, commercial and regulatory support to the group, handling contracts, litigation and corporate governance matters. Reporting to the Group CEO, the role ensures compliance across oil & gas, renewable energy and waste‑management projects while managing relationships with external counsel. The position also oversees company secretarial duties and maintains statutory registers. Strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver business‑focused solutions are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • LLB degree and admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
- • Current membership of the Law Society of Kenya
- • Minimum four years’ experience as a legal counsel in renewable energy, oil & gas, mining or waste‑management sectors
- • Proven experience in contract drafting, regulatory compliance and corporate governance

- • Provide legal, commercial and regulatory advice to the Group
- • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements
- • Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel
- • Ensure corporate governance and regulatory compliance across all entities
- • Support company secretarial functions, including board documentation and statutory filings
- • Advise on legal risk management for upstream oil & gas, renewable energy and waste‑management projects
- • Liaise with regulators, partners and internal stakeholders to address compliance issues
