Job Description
The Junior Mechanical Engineer supports mechanical installation projects by preparing schedules, coordinating site activities, and ensuring material compliance. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, managing bills of materials, tracking costs, and assisting with estimations. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and project‑management tools, as well as knowledge of plumbing and fire‑fighting systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering
- • At least one year of relevant industry experience
- • Knowledge of plumbing and fire‑fighting systems
- • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and MS Office
- • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare and track project work schedules using Microsoft Project
- • Coordinate site activities to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship
- • Interpret construction drawings and identify discrepancies against Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and upload them to the approved system
- • Monitor monthly project costs and prepare valuations within set timelines
- • Ensure materials comply with approved specifications and schedules
- • Manage site materials and stock, and submit monthly stock reports
- • Support estimation and costing in coordination with the quantity surveying team
